Terms of Service

The short version: be kind, don't resell our content, cancel anytime in two clicks. We warn you before every renewal, and if Crochets ever isn't for you, you keep the free tier and your projects.

1. Who you're dealing with

Crochets is provided by Boroto Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom ("Crochets", "we"). By creating an account or subscribing you agree to these terms. Contact: hello@crochets.app.

2. The service

Crochets is a crochet learning and pattern-design app: lessons, a stitch library with embedded tutorial videos, a pattern calculator and designer, photo previews, project tracking and pricing tools. Some features are free; others require a paid plan as described on our pricing page.

3. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

Paid plans are billed weekly or monthly in advance via Stripe, in your local currency where supported. Prices include VAT where applicable.
Renewal transparency: subscriptions renew automatically, and we email you before renewal for any billing period of one month or longer. You can cancel anytime from your account — cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Cancellation promise: cancelling takes two clicks. No retention mazes, no phone calls.
EU/UK withdrawal right: you have 14 days to withdraw from a new subscription and receive a refund, unless you've used paid features in that time — by starting to use them you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge the withdrawal right is lost to the extent of use. We'll still refund fairly if something went wrong: email us.
If a payment fails we'll retry and notify you; features revert to the free tier rather than deleting your data.

4. Your content

Patterns, charts and projects you create are yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and display them back to you (and to others only if you explicitly share). Patterns you design with the Pattern Designer may be used commercially by you — sell what you make and the patterns you write.

5. Our content

Lessons, the stitch library, app design and human-tested patterns we publish are ours or our licensors'. Personal use is included in your plan; don't resell, scrape or redistribute them. Embedded tutorial videos belong to their YouTube creators, are credited, and play under YouTube's terms.

6. AI features — what they are and aren't

Photo renders are AI-generated previews and are labelled as such; the finished item you crochet may differ. Written patterns from the Pattern Designer are compiled algorithmically from your chart — not AI-generated — but you're responsible for checking a pattern suits your yarn and skill level. Crochets does not sell AI-generated patterns.

7. Affiliate links

Some links to yarn and supplies are affiliate links (marked "link sponsorizzato" where required). We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Purchases from those shops are contracts between you and the shop.

8. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service, other users, or our team; don't upload unlawful content; don't attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the app; don't use automated scraping. We may suspend accounts that do, with notice where reasonable.

9. Liability

Crochets is provided with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect losses (like lost profits from items you sell) or for yarn purchased for a project. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under UK and EU consumer protection rules, which are unaffected.

10. Changes & termination

We may update features and these terms; material changes will be emailed 14 days in advance, and if you disagree you may cancel with a pro-rata refund of any prepaid period. You can delete your account anytime. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales; consumers keep the protection of their home country's mandatory rules and may sue or be sued in their home courts.
